Regency Style. This style originated during the period when George, Prince of Wales was Regent. Most Regency styled homes are 1 or 1 1/2 stories with low-hip roofs and a villa or cottage appearance. Center door and large first floor windows with small panes are typical. Other Regency touches include contrasting window sizes, a sweeping gallery and tall chimneys. The Woodlawn was referenced as an example of the Regency style in the 1973 publication Explore Canada.
